Wouldn't it be great if searches of historical documents could recognize cursive handwriting? But imagine the challenges. Handwriting styles have changed over time and most people have their own particular interpretation of cursive writing. Well, there is good news. Today, Mocavo.com CEO Chris Shaw posted a blog entry indicating that Mocavo has been working on automated recognition of cursive handwriting for the last year. So far, their results show 90 to 95 percent accuracy for limited vocabularies. Think about how revolutionary this will be for genealogy research!
