Honor Flights at Reagan National Airport
Yesterday, my husband and I had the privilege to greet two Honor Flights at Reagan National Airport. The Honor Flight Network transports US WWII, Korean and Vietnam veterans to Washington, DC to vist their memorial. Soldiers and volunteers greeted the veterans with cheers and handshakes as they came off the plane. What a pleasure it was to see their smiles, humor, and sometimes tears of appreciation. From what I was told, the flights will be suspended for the winter month

WWI Soldiers - Last Installment
Oh what it's like to be a soldier. Misery, pride, adventure, comradery, with moments of sheer terror. Both my WWI grandfathers are gone now, but they certainly have not been forgotten.
